Toshiba does the Matrix in new 'timesculpturing' advert
What’s the Matrix famous for? Ok, not the lickable, leather coat toting Keanu Reeves. What’s the other thing it’s famous for? You got it, bullet time – the slowing down of every millisecond of movement from every angle, which sure makes watching someone getting shot at way more exciting. Instead of jumping on the bullet time bandwagon, Toshiba hired an ad agency with its very own bullet time variant (the next generation of this much-lauded technique if you will) called ‘timesculpture’, to push Toshiba’s XDE technology and home entertainment products.
The result is something quite cool and astounding. Check it out after the jump…
Toshiba has pulled out all the stops, using over 200 of their own Gigashot camcorders to showcase their high-tech capabilities, 20,000 gigabytes of data and 336 hours of processing time. Every single part of the ad has been individually put together “to create flawless interacting loops working in harmony”. It looks perfectly choreographed, it’s clever and it makes you want to be in it (or maybe that’s just me?).
