Vodafone not tying customers into two year contracts with the Blackberry Storm
I think I adore the Blackberry Storm, so excuse me if I feel the need to update you on pretty much every development even vaguely related to it from now until launch. Pricing for instance – your life would be enriched with a bit of Storm pricing knowledge, wouldn’t it?
The great news is, they’ve done away with the rumoured two year minimum contract – you can now get it for as little as 12 months, if you’re prepared to shell out for the phone.
Pay £300 up front, and £30 a month, and you’re tied in for a year. You can get it free if you pay £40 a month, on an 18 month contract, and free if you pay £35 on a two year contract. Obviously text and call minutes vary between the bundles.
However, the important thing is Yay! Less commitment! We needn’t be worried that we’re going to be left holding a dumb phone when everyone else is talking through the chip embedded in their head come November 2010! And that’s good news for everyone.
