Teenage girls all about the Tech Sex
I’m not normally a massive fan of writing about surveys, but this one was too good to pass up. Cosmo US has revealed some interesting results about how girls are using tech to aid and abet their love lives.
– 1 in 5 have sent saucy photos to someone by MMS or email
– 2 in 5 have sent a raunchy text
– 1 in 5 have showed one of these to a third party
The survey was done with the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, who seem quite sure that there’s a link between ‘Tech Sex’ as they brand it, and unplanned pregnancy.
Putting pregnancy aside for one second, it is worth baring in mind all the horrifically embarrassing possibilities when you send questionable content. There’s a chance someone else will see it whilst you’re together, and that chance probably increases when you split up. Not to mention the fact that technology has a mind of its own, and any photos or texts *will* try to make an appearance at the most inappropriate moment (ever left your phone lying around younger siblings who have a habit of fiddling with stuff? Exactly).
So, teenage girls, listen up: Careful who you send that stuff to. And use a condom. That is all.
