Facebook takes the "like" button to the rest of the internet
Facebook announced that they’re taking their “like” button to the rest of the internet. Websites will be able to embed a content-sharing button that will post a webpage to Facebook if a user clicks on it. It’s a mechanism similar to Digg or Twitter.
The move will be revealed at the Facebook conference in San Francisco this week, but it was unveiled early to marketers at a pre-conference this weekend according to the FT.com.
Facebook says it will make the web more social, the marketers say that Facebook will use data from these interactions to target users with related adverts once they return to Facebook.com.
