Twitter problems continue, and World Cup match tonight could take it all down
The problems Twitter has been having since 29th June are continuing and the world cup match tonight could take the site down further.
All Twitter clients are suffering from the API failure which has led to searches not turning up results, users losing @replies, the main Twitter stream failing to update, and attempts to tweet being blocked because API limits have been lowered.
Tweetdeck is one of the big Twitter clients affected and they’ve been tracking the service disruption on their blog. This was their latest announcement:
Update: 7th July 1555 BST
There are continued issues with the Twitter API. Many people are experiencing:
* Constant Rate Limit Warnings
* Non-Populating Columns
This is not just happening to TweetDeck users, but other Twitter clients are experiencing the same issue as seen here: http://bit.ly/9gl29j
They also warned about the World Cup semi-final tonight taking the service down further..
“Please be aware that there is also a World Cup football game at 1930 BST / 2:30 pm EST / 11:30 am PDT, this is likely to cause further Twitter API issues.”
