Got a brilliant start-up idea but don't know what to call it? .Dot.Com.Roulette does
So you’re almost ready to unleash your Twitter and cat dating site mash-up on the world, but what to call it. What is a good name for a business start-up these days? And will the url of your dreams be available?
That’s where the tech start-up name generator Dot.Com.Roulette comes in. It only suggests domain names that are available (can’t be too many in this day and age) and then generates business-sounding names from the key words you type in.
For “cats”, “dating” and “twitter” they suggest:
– ktorcats.com
– catnine.com
– catsoftwar.com (my favourite, though it doesn’t make much sense)
They note that the database was trained on a directory of business names so sometimes it does all sound a bit Linked-In. Still, a nice little sounding board for your ideas.
And don’t you dare steal my idea for the cat-dating twitter site. NO WAY.
