Royal Wedding? – there's an app for that

If talk of the Royal Wedding in April makes you groan, grind pens into your hand and book holidays out of the country, then this isn’t the iPad app for you.

If, on the other hand, you love following updates about Kate Middleton’s dress, want to know all about palace protocol and hear all about the couple’s “unique love story” – then you should check out The Royal Wedding 2011 app for iPad.

Produced by a Canadian developer and largely aimed at the Canadian and US markets, the app does all the above and more.

The developer 2 For Life Media Inc promise heady things. They say:

“From a special feature about the couple’s unique love story and its effect on the British monarchy to a fun shopping guide for official–and unofficial!–souvenirs, we’ve created an entertaining and info-packed app for all to enjoy […] Our newswall provides full coverage, starting with Will and Kate’s engagement through to their wedding day, via a live feed of photos and articles from the Press Association, which has been delivering the Royal Family’s news first for more than 100 years. We are also moderating a vibrant community dedicated to the occasion on the Facebook.com/WillandKate page, which is integrated right into the app.”

Yes, that’s right, your iPad can bring the marriage of that charismatic leader Prince William right into your sitting room. Then! from the same interface you can also interact with fellow app users about how excited you are.

Helpfully the app is free.

  • Whether hair is straight or curly, it might be hard to style in the summer because of all that humidity. Many brides-to-be are faced with daily frizz, and fly-aways. It’s best to not fight with your hair, but instead treat it with love and care. Smoothing conditioners will seal the hair cuticle and prepare it for styling, while smoothing serums will tame stubborn fly-aways. There is no point in piling on product that will leave your hair oily and limp. Less is more is key for maintaining your style throughout the day, and a little hairspray will be sure to keep your tresses in place.

  • Very interesting. I’m really looking forward to the big day. I’ve already bought my official Royal Wedding coin from the Presents For Men website. Very nice but I think William looks very angry. Is it just me?
