Sony's HMZ-T1 3D personal viewer gets an on sale date
Some fairly exciting news for serious geeks is that the Sony Personal 3D Viewer (AKA the “HMZ-T1”) will be up for sale in Japan as of November. Why is that exciting? Well check out the video, they look and sound amazing.
They are equipped with two 1280×720 OLED screens (one for each eye) the visor gives the impression of watching a massive 62ft 3D cinema screen in the comfort of your home. Simulated 5.1 channel surround sound is also offered through the onboard ear pieces.
They are expected to cost around 60,000 yen, which is around £480. No word yet on UK or US release dates, but we’ll keep you posted.

I could see myself playing Left 4 Dead 2 with these things, and enjoying the hell out of it. I don’t even care that the overall resolution is lower than the 1080p I currently play at, this would be so completely worth it.
I hope the headphones are good though. I would hate to have such a nice display chained to subpar audio.
