Five Flip phones that changed the world – Motorola StarTAC, Sharp GX10 and more
There was a time when we couldn’t get enough of flip phones, or clamshells as they sometimes got called this side of the Pond. In fact in the US in the mid noughties no serious business exec would be seen without a flip dangling from their belt in a novelty style holster.
Well now it appears that the Flip is back with Samsung today confirming the Hennessy flip phone. It is apparently a China-only handset for now, but then again if there was a huge demand.
Anyhow to celebrate the return of the flip are five clamshells that changed the world.
I owned at least three of them – how many did you have?

It's pretty cool to see how much our phones have changed. Personally, I think the new Moto X is a cool step forward towards making the phone more personalised (and a status symbol). The personalisation will presumably appeal to the hipsterish crowd with the graphic profile etc. I've currently got the HTC One, but I would love to replace it with a phone with more personalised touch. I have to say, I change gadgets a lot and spend a lot of my spare time on technology. I've recently added my gear to http://unioncy.com to better manage the product lifecycles.
