Buzzfeed strikes deal with Whisper to turn secrets into stories
Everyone’s favourite online viral news, quiz and cat bible, Buzzfeed, has teamed up with secret-sharing app Whisper in a deal that’ll allow the editorial team to access its content for possible articles (and when we say articles, of course we mean lists).
According to the New York Times over the weekend, Buzzfeed writers will be able to search the site for interesting list fodder and Whisper can suggest cool ideas to the editorial team based on trends and themes it sees developing amongst its users.
Neetzan Zimmerman, Whisper Editor-in-Chief and ex-Gawker journo, said, “BuzzFeed is just a natural partner for Whisper.” He continued, “It is teeming with the sort of content we will be good at.”
It goes without saying that if you have an actual, real life, never tell a soul secret then Whisper isn’t the place for it. Well, unless you want 10 gifs of Tina Fey to illustrate your juicy stories of shame that is.
