Eat cake (and more): introducing Dr Oetker’s edible cupcake case

There are spotted ones, sparkly ones, intricate and elaborate ones – but until now, there’s never been an edible cupcake case.

Designed by German baked goods brand Dr Oetker, these sweet-tasting, edible cupcake cases simplify the baking and eating processes. Now you can make, bake and eat your creations all in the same wrapper!

The cases are super-convenient as they’re 100% bake-proof – perfect for all types of cupcake. They’re free-standing so they don’t require a cupcake-shaped baking tray, either. Bakers simply need to pour their desired mixture into the cases, place them on a tray in the oven and voilà!

They’re cases with a conscience, as they obviously cut out paper wastage too. They come in blue or pink and contain ingredients such as corn starch, potato starch, rice starch and vegetable oil, so are veggie- and vegan-friendly. Yum!

Dr Oetker Edible Wafer Cupcake Cases will be available nationwide from beginning of June 2014, priced at £2.49 for six.
