Is new dating app Happn really creepy or really romantic?
Have you ever walked past a really amazing looking guy on the street, and wished you’d gone up and spoken to him afterwards? Well, Happn gives you that second chance. But, with the app knowing exactly where you are, is it a lovely and serendipitous idea, or is it all just a tad creepy?
The app works in real-time using hyper-locality and immediate proximity, showing you profiles of people you’ve crossed paths with throughout the day. You can then secretly like them through the app, and if they return the gesture, you can start chatting – so a bit like Tinder, in that sense.
What starts getting weird about Happn, is that it tells you exactly where you crossed paths with someone, and the time, and also how many times you’ve walked past them! It also shows you how far away the person is by the time you go back to looking at the app.
While we do get the whole idea, as, living in London, it is very hard to meet anyone, even though you see so many people on the tube everyday, but we’re not sure if it’s going to catch on. We could be so wrong though, and this could end up being the new Tinder.
You can download Happn for free from the App Store or Google Play.
