5 airbrushing apps to make that selfie photo-ready #PhotoWeek
We all have that one friend who somehow looks incredible in Facebook and Instagram pictures, and we always wonder how she looks so perfect, even when it looks like she’s in a sweaty club, drunk and been dancing for hours. With so many apps with the ability to airbrush photos to make everyone look perfect, we think we may have just discovered the answer, or our friend is just one of those annoying people who looks like a model at all times. We’re going with the former, just to put our minds at ease.
We’ve picked our top five airbrushing apps, so you can look just as good as that girl on Facebook, or even perfect that selfie to Kim Kardashian standards.
1) Skinneepix
Skinneepix claims to make the dream of being a whole stone skinnier a reality in just two clicks, but, with the description reading, ‘No one needs to know. It’s our little secret’, it does make us wonder whether our friends will start to wonder why we look 5, 10 or 15lbs heavier when they see us in real life.
SkinneePix is available on the App Store and Google Play for 59p (sorry, being skinny doesn’t come for free).
2) FaceTune
If you’re serious about selfie-editing then you really need to add Facetune to your bank of apps. This powerful app, built especially for portrait editing, allows you to even out your skin tone, whiten your smile, reshape your face, remove dark circles, get rid of blemishes and even add more hair to your head. Chances are your selfie will be completely unrecognisable after 15 minutes alone with Facetune, but it’s actually quite fun to be given the power of a retoucher with just your mobile phone.
While FaceTune seems like the perfect app with all the abilities to make your face look picture-perfect, beauty comes at a price, and this app is available for £1.99 from the App Store or Google Play.
3) ModiFace
If you want to take your airbrushing skills to a whole new level for free, ModiFace has so many photo editing combinations to choose from, as well as makeup simulation, and skin and facial enhancement effects. You could just make yourself look like a completely different person ultimately, with blemish removal, colour contacts, facial/body slimming, jaw contouring, facelifting, teeth whitening and computer-generated nosejobs!
There’s also the option to add a filter, frame and text, but does that really matter when you can give yourself computerised plastic surgery?
ModiFace is available on the App Store for free.
4) Perfect365
We all have those days where our make up just won’t stay on or won’t show up in pictures at all. Perfect365 gives users the ability to try dozens of preset make up templates with one tap, along with features allowing users to soften skin, banish blemishes, erase under-eye circles, whiten teeth, and control the intensity of each effect too, in case you’re worried about it looking way too obvious that you’re not actually that perfect looking!
Perfect365 is available on the App Store and Google Play for free.
5) Spring
Height is the one thing you can’t get surgery to change, so, with that in mind, Spring is making being taller a possibility! Being incredibly vertically-challenged, at 5″1, I’m a big advocate of this new app, which makes your legs look longer and skinnier in just a couple of taps. Spring works by asking the user to mark your hips, ankles and shoulders on a photo, and then, VOILA, you have long (or, in my case, normal-length) legs. It really is that simple!
Spring is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.
