Youtube is set to launch Spotify competitor, Music Key
YouTube looks set to launch a launch a new subscription music service, offering access to over 200 million tracks and concert footage and remixes, along with videos in a bid to take on Spotify and other streaming services.
According to Android Police, the service,, will be known as Youtube Music Key, and will be ‘offering ad-free music, audio-only playback (for background or off-screen listening), and offline playback.’ Google Play Music All Access will also be changed to Google Play Music Key, and will come as part of the monthly subscription. There are plenty of screenshots of what the service could look like over on Android Police.
The website also says that it will offer a free 30 day trial and will cost $9.99 per month thereafter.
It’s not clear when this Youtube Music Key service will be available, but we’re looking forward to trying it out, as now we come to think of it, we’re surprised Youtube hasn’t done something like this sooner, as it could definitely give Spotify a run for its money
