HTC’s Nexus 9 tablet could be released on October 16th
As time goes on we’re starting to hear more and more about HTC’s upcoming Nexus tablet, which is being referred to as the Nexus 9, but now we have some details on when the device will be released to the public. Apparently it’ll be released on October 16th.
That’s according to MoDaCo founder Paul O’Brien who claims he got the information from an anonymous tip. How much we can trust that information is unclear, but virtually all rumours have pointed to the Nexus 9 being released towards the end of October alongside Android L and the Nexus 6/X smartphone.
So far all we think we know is that the device will have a 9-inch screen, and will include NVIDIA’s Tegra K1 system chip. Other than that we don’t know squat.
October 16th isn’t very far off. It’s just before Apple is rumoured to be announced the iPad Air 2, and shortly after Samsung releases the Galaxy Note 4. It would make sense for Google and HTC to beat Apple to launch by a couple of weeks, and help get a few sales in before the new iPad ends up in people’s minds.
