Twitpic is no longer shutting down
A few weeks ago the owners of Twitpic announced that the site would be shutting down due to legal threats from Twitter related to a trademark filing from 2008. Now it’s been announced that this will not be happening.
According to a tweet from the site’s official account, Twitpic has been taken over by an unspecified individual or organisation, savinng it from closure.

Obviously we don’t have much in the way of details right now, but I’m sure we’ll find out more in the coming weeks. For now, be safe in the knowledge that Twitpic is going to be sticking around, for better or worse.
