The Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra is rumoured to have an early 2015 release
A couple of weeks ago we heard reports of the Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra, an absolute monster of a tablet with a 4K screen. Now a new report suggests that the tablet will be hitting the market in the first half of 2015.
According to DigiTimes the 12.9-inch tablet is about to enter mass production at Petragon Technology, and will come packing a 4K resolution screen, an 8MP camera, a Qualcomm Processor, and will be a mere 8.6mm thick. While DigiTimes didn’t say which Qualcomm processor was included, those specs do seem to corroborate what we heard earlier this month.
As expected for something with such ridiculously high specs, the tablet is rumoured to be rather expensive. DigiTimes’ sources go so far as to claim that its price will exceed $1,000 (£650).
For the time being we don’t know much else about the Z4 Tablet Ultra, and while Sony has hinted that it will be showing off new tech at CES next week we don’t know what that will involve. It might involve new Xperia devices, or it might involve something completely different. In any case we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
