CES 2015: Withings launches the Activite Pop watch – one of the best looking trackers yet
When Withings first announced its great-looking Activite smartwatch we were impressed. The brand has packed best in class activity tracking and smartwatch functionality into one incredibly stylish package that blows the competition out of the water. But the one thing that puts us off is the hefty £320 price tag.
So we were really excited to hear that Withings has unveiled a much more mainstream, wallet-friendly version (it’ll retail at around £129) at CES 2015 called the Activite Pop.
Although to many it may just look like a regular old watch, the Activite Pop has just as many activity tracking capabilities as most wearables on the market, like activity tracking, sleep tracking and swim tracking. For those frustrated by gadgets that continually run out of juice you’ll be happy to hear the Activite Pop’s battery will last a whole eight months and will hook up to your phone and other devices via Bluetooth 4.0.
The Activite Pop comes in three good-looking yet very subtle colours, a mid-grey, a blue and a creamy, sandy shade. Its strap is super lightweight and waterproof, but it doesn’t look too cheap and rubberised like other gadgets on the market.
The gadget teams up with Withings’ Health Mate app, which presents all of the important data of the day in handy charts and visualisations, which look rather similar to Jawbone’s app.
The original Withings Activite is still bound to get fitness lovers who like a good quality wristwatch (and have plenty of cash to burn) excited, but we think the brand could well have made one of the best-looking and more wearable trackers of 2015 with the Activitie Pop. Well, the ShinyShiny team will all have one on their wrists at least!
The Withings Activite Pop will retail later in the Spring for around £129.99. We haven’t got any official data about UK availability just yet.
