Acer adds Z220 and Z250 Lollipop Android phones #MWC15
In addition to the Windows mobile it unveiled today, Acer also took the wraps off a pair of Android handsets. They are both in the Z series – which basically means they are lower-end models aimed at budget conscious buyers.
First up is the Z220 – which is the cheaper of the pair and will come in at around £70 when it debuts in March. Acer describes it as ‘an all-rounder primed for feature phone upgraders.’ That translates as a skinnyish mobile with a 4-inch WVGA display with 233 PPI, 8GB of storage and 1GB RAM, optional dual SIM, a Qualcomm Dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor and 5MP flash-equipped 89 degree wide view angle rear and 2MP front cameras.
It sports a textile pattern design which Acer claims is inspired by Thai silk!
Its most impressive feature is that it is the first Acer smartphone to sport the new Android 5.0 operating system (Lollipop).
Coming in a smidgen more at around £100 the Liquid Z520 has a similar portfolio of its features as its sibling but adds voice activated camera in a bid to woo selfie obsessives and DTS™ Studio Sound to attract party animals and night bus DJs.
