Apple Watch orders opened today
It’s a big day for tech whether you’re an Android fan or an Apple devotee: not only are the Samsung S6 and S6 Edge launching today, Apple Watch orders opened this morning as well. (And yes, we still kinda wish they’d called it the iWatch, too…)
Anyway, if you’ve been longing for an Apple Watch since it was announced last year, now’s your time to snap into action. The 38mm face Apple Watch Sport comes in white, slate grey, blue, green, or pink for £299, or £339 for the 42mm version. The standard Apple Watch is available in 20 different models, starting at £479 for the 38mm stainless steel case with white sport band. And, as you might have heard, the Apple Watch Edition is a real investment, made with yellow or rose gold and starting at £8000 (yep, that’s three zeros).
Whatever version you choose, you’ll have to wait a while to get it, though. Shipping doesn’t start until 24 April but demand’s high, so the longer you leave it, and the more you want a particular model, the longer you’re likely to have to wait. I just tried to put the white 38mm Sport into my basket, and was told it’d be with me in June.
If you don’t mind waiting, you can pre-order yours from Apple today – as long as you go online, they’re not offering the service in stores. You could always go in and try one on, though, to see if you like it IRL.
