You can now add emojis to WordPress 😂🍌🎂
Yep, that’s right. Crying so much you’re laughing faces, totally innocent aubergines and smiling poops are slowly but surely taking over the planet. Their latest conquest? WordPress.
According to The Next Web this morning, the latest version of WordPress (that’s WordPress 4.2) totally supports emojis in all forms in all parts of your posts and pages and widgets and well, everything. So feel free to parade dancing girls all over your blog postsย (👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯👯) and swap out words for little yellow faces to express all of your emotions (😁😌😍😗😘). You can even put an emoji into the URL of your posts too – although some people are reporting problems with this, we’ll keep you posted.
Until now, past versions of WordPress wouldn’t really support emojis. They’d display all strangely or just cause WordPress to have a mini freak out and not even save your posts. Now they’re getting on much better, so expect to see even more emojis all over the web. Great news for fans of smiling poops, pretty devastating news for emoji-haters.
If you’re keen to start emoji-ing right now, then head to the “update” button in your dashboard, or go ahead and download WordPress 4.2 manually.

Unfortunately, the emojis do not work in WordPress comments. :(
