Pinterest’s top searches and Pins for 2015 revealed – avocado and Pork Pies dominate
Avocado continues its reign as Pinterest’s top food ingredient while Pork Pie tops the list of Pinterest’s top searches and Pins for 2015. While ‘pork pie’ was the most searched item, the top Pin was an ‘avocado egg bake’ recipe – possibly an unexpected find when searching for breakfast inspiration.
As well as avocados, eggs are also making their way to the top with healthy eating a big trend this year. Camel coats have stolen the show for female fashion whilst Tom Hardy is the male style icon this year. And, it appears that it’s not all about far-flung exotic locations anymore with Amsterdam being the UK’s favourite city-break, and close-to-home Cornwall being a top staycation.
Last year, Pinterest launched Guided Search to help people find things they didn’t even know they were looking for, which consists of trending ideas that other people on the platform are searching for. On average, people click three additional guide tabs daily when using Guided Search. Pinterest has found that people outside the US use guides more often than US Pinners.
Also from today, people in the UK will be able to find even more locally relevant content when searching on Pinterest, whether online or on their mobile. The top Pins and searches in the UK for 2015 include:
